I BEAR THIS CROSS

Have I not set the world astir
In quest of becoming the best man can ever have?
Have I not gone mad in search of sanity?
Have I not let the world berserk fighting for understanding?
Have I not gained much intuition to affect the mind of the lost?
Indeed, I have gone through blood and sand
Through infernos and storms; thunderstorms
To be incendiary; the flag-bearer of righteousness.
But at every end I bear this cross!

I have come into cross-roads with brothers
And have offered them a choice of the fatted paths,
I have given the last drop of my goblet to thirsty tongue to spare a weary soul.
Robbers too has broken my locket without carrying a curse.
I have been betrayed but I frowned a smile.
I have saved a man today who yelled,
Gnawed and parried yesterday
As he stabbed and inflicted painful death on me.
I have also drowned because I wanted to rescue a fish,
But at every end I bear this cross!

I have shown love but love has hated,
I have given kindness but kindness have cheated.
I have heard and seen the people I dearly love
Banter and cackle in laughter for my anxieties.
When I smiled a crying face, they turned and cried a smiling mask.
When I smiled back, they frowned for my happiness,
But I never change my feelings towards anyone.
For they make me stronger in wit and understanding,
They help me break through the encrypted verses of life
And unleash the wisdom how to cope with the ironies of life.
What you want most times is not what you get
What you give is not what you take
At every end I bear this cross!

They tend to take imminent results
Myopia!
Two swollen balls of eyes only looking.
Of course! You Look to See!
But you Watch to Perceive!
Cankered by lust they lost the race.
Must you love them still?
Yes!
At every end I bear this cross!
